Tyron Boswell begins his second season as an assistant coach for the Rams in 2018-19. He previously served as the director of basketball operations with the University of Rhode Island in 2016-17.
Boswell arrived in Kingston after spending the previous seven years with the Nike EYBL Expressions Elite youth basketball program. He was the director of basketball operations for Expressions Elite, where he oversaw all aspects of organization’s day-to-day operations, including coaching, individual instruction and player development. He also advised student-athletes through the recruiting process at all levels of NCAA basketball and helped create an academics program to assist members of the Expressions Elite program prepare for college.
While with Expressions Elite, Boswell was an integral part of the player development efforts for several professional and high-level Division I players, including recent Rhode Island graduate Jared Terrell.
Boswell also was key in the development of NBA draftees Ricardo Ledo as well as close to 40 Division I players, including standouts Abdul Malik Abu (N.C. State), Tyrique Jones (Xavier), Jared Wilson Frame (Pittsburgh), Kamani Lawrence (Arizona State) and Cane Broome (Cincinnati).
A 2016 graduate of Northeastern University, Boswell also served as the head boys basketball coach at Concord Academy in Concord, Mass. from 2013-16.
