KINGSTON, R.I. – Junior linebacker Andrew Bose and senior cornerback Jamaal Bess were named to the Phil Steele College Football Preview 2013 Preseason All-CAA Football Team.
Bose and Bess were among 83 players from the conference to earn spots on the team. Bose was named to the second team defense, while Bess was a third team pick. The team selections were made by Josh Buchanan of JBScouting.com.
As a true sophomore, Bose started every game at linebacker and led Rhode Island with 86 tackles last season. He had 52 solo stops and had 34 assists. Bose finished the season tied for fifth among CAA Football linebackers with 7.8 tackles per game.
Bose had a career-high 16 tackles at Richmond on Nov. 3, tying him for the ninth highest single-game total in school history. He was second on the team with 6.5 tackles for loss and also had one sack, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery this season.
In his first season with the Rams, Bess started 10 games at cornerback. Despite missing one game with injury, he was sixth on the team with 44 tackles. He had 28 solo stops and 16 asssits.
