The Rhode Island men's track & field athletes finished the Penn Relays with four events on Saturday. Highlighted by a first-place finish in the 4x200-meter relay in the IC4A finals, the Rams also had athletes in the triple jump, pole vault and hammer.
- The 4x200-meter relay team of Nigel Hill, Joseph Carter, Jared Gray and John Stallworth won the IC4A division finals with a time of 1:25.74.
- Sophomore Ryan Wilkes reached a height of 5.05 meters (26' 6.75") in the pole vault for fifth in the college division and seventh in URI history. Senior Ondrej Honka didn't reach on his first three jumps.
- Senior Alex Briggs took seventh in the hammer throw with a distance of 57.73 meters (189' 4"). Junior Joseph Mattson took 18th with a throw of 52.94 meters (173' 8").
- Junior Casey Burley fouled on all three of his attempts in the triple jump.
The Rams turn right back around tomorrow, Apr. 30, for the Brown Open in Providence, R.I. The meet is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.
