How it Happened
Rhode Island was shutout for the second time in as many days, falling 13-0 in five innings to Ole Miss at the Houston Classic Saturday afternoon.
Trailing 3-0 in the top of the third, the Rams (1-3) had a strong scoring chance when Rachel Kuhlman led off with a single and Paige Julich followed with a double to put two runners in scoring position with no outs. However, a groundout, a fielder's choice and a fly out ended the rally before any runs came in.
Ole Miss (5-2) doubled its lead with three runs in the bottom of the third before salting the game away with seven runs in the bottom of the fourth to put the eight-run rule in play.
