Rogers One-Hits N.C. State, Leads Rams to 1-0 Victory

How It Happened                                      
Rhode Island senior Becca Rogers pitched a one-hit shutout to lead the Rams (3-8) to a 1-0 win over the ACC's North Carolina State (12-8) at the Charleston Invitational Friday.

After allowing a single to lead off the game, Rogers (2-2) did not give up a hit the rest of the way, pitching her second complete-game shutout of the season.

Rhody scored the lone run of the game in the bottom of the fourth inning. Faith Musselwhite led off with a double. She came around to score when Ari Castillo followed with a double of her own.

  • Senior Becca Rogers struck out six batters in her dominant performance. She now has 301 career strikeouts, making her the fifth Rhode Island pitcher to reach the milestone.
