Rhode Island Cruises Past Springfield, Coast Guard

How it Happened:
Rhode Island won nine of Saturday's 16 individual events, defeating Springfield (206-94) and Coast Guard (197-100). 

The Rams dominated the the 200-yard medley relay, the first event of the day. The quartet of Grace Kneller, Nicole Petta, Caitlyn Blake and Eliza Anderson earned a first place finish. Rhode Island's three other entries rounded out the top four. 

For the second meet in a row, Katy Evans scored big points for Rhody in the diving events, winning the 1-meter dive and placing second in the 3-meter dive. Caitlin Guccione was another top competitor for the Rams, winning both the 100- and 200-meter butterfly. 

Rhode Island snagged the last points of the day, when the team of Maddie Horner, Nicole Petta, Eliza Anderson and Grace Kneller finished first in the 200-yard freestyle relay by almost three seconds, solidifying the Rams' win.

What's Next:
The Rams will hit the road for the first time this season, traveling to La Salle for a meet on Friday, Nov. 2. The duel is scheduled to start at 6 p.m.
