Rucks Adds Loredo to Roster for 2018-19
KINGSTON, R.I. — Rhode Island interim head coach Jordan Rucks announced that Paulina Loredo has committed to playing for the Rams for the 2018-19 season.. 
Loredo attended Corona del Mar High School in California, where she captained the tennis team last season as a senior. She had a perfect 19-0 record in singles play and was also 50-6 while part of the school's No. 1 doubles team.In the fall of 2017 Loredo led her team to win the league and regionals in the Southern California region. She was named to the All-County girls tennis team and earned female athlete of the week honors.

Prior to her time at Corona del Mar, Loredo played in USTA tournaments in the Dallas, Texas area where she was a Texas Zonals Champion in 2016. 

"I am very excited to add Paulina onto the team for next year," Rucks said. "She has stayed highly competitive throughout her junior career achieving a UTR level 8 rating and has had close matches with some of the best players in the country. I have full confidence in her ability to make a lasting impact on the tennis program here at Rhode Island. We are very lucky to have her."

Originally born in Michigan before moving to Mexico, Loredo has played at the national and international level and has represented Mexico in both the Coup Le Blanc in Canada and the JITIC Cup in Dominican Republic. She won gold in the doubles and mixed doubles at the National Olympic games for Mexico in 2014, and placed third at the WTT National Championship in San Diego. 
A volunteer in the community, Loredo helped raise money for hurricane victims in Puerto Rico.
