Jonathan Nazarko is in his third year with the Rhode Island's Strength and Conditioning staff, which he joined in September of 2016.
Nazarko is the primary strength and conditioning coach for Rhode Island's baseball, men's soccer, women's basketball and swimming & diving programs. He also is an assistant with the school's football program. This is his second stint with the department, as he also was an assistant strength and conditioning coach for the Rams from September of 2015 through March of 2016, working with the tennis, swimming & diving, rowing, baseball and football teams.
Before coming back to Rhode Island, Nazarko was with the Greenville Drive, a Single A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox. He ran daily stretch and conditioning sessions, lifts, meal planning and more. He also has worked as a strength and conditioning coach with Mike Boyle Strength and Conditioning in Woburn, Mass.
Nazarko earned his bachelor's degree in kinesiology from Rhode Island in 2014. He is working toward a master's degree in exercise science with an expected completion date of 2019.
While attending Rhode Island, Nazarko was a member of both the men's basketball and baseball teams. In 2014, he was the only athlete in Division I to play both sports in the same academic year.
