Welcome back Rhody Fans,
For those who do not know, we finished the season this past weekend, one game out of qualifying for the Atlantic 10 conference tournament. So, with this being my final blog post, I've decided to make it a little more personal.
Although this was my senior year, I ended up re-tearing my elbow midway through the season - an injury that kept me sidelined from March on. Fortunately though, I will be back next year for a fifth year.
To our six graduates... I would like to personally thank each of you for everything you've done the past four years, and Taso And Tyler for the last five years. Watching from the dugout as you guys celebrated senior day - with each other and your families - was strange for me. Not being out there with you guys just didn't feel right.
I think it's important that the readers of this blog know that what these six seniors have done, both on and off the field, is what Rhode Island baseball is all about. From the way they led us through the tough start to this season, to winning an Atlantic 10 championship two years ago, and winning URI's first NCAA tournament game - these guys have always represented themselves, their families, our team and our University well.
Each one of these six guys has played a huge part in the success of URI baseball over the past four years, and they are among the many reasons this program will continue to grow.
We will see you next fall Rhody fans... and as always... GO RHODY!
