KINGSTON, R.I. - The University of Rhode Island baseball team will be holding a MANDATORY meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 4 for those interested in participating in walk-on tryouts for the 2020 season. The meeting will begin promptly at 4 p.m. and will take place in URI's hitting barn, located along the right field side of Bill Beck Field.
The actual walk-on tryout will take place on Thursday, Sept. 5 at 4 p.m., but interested individuals must attend the Sept. 4 meeting in order to participate in the tryout.
Potential walk-ons must be enrolled at URI as a full-time student and need to have had a physical within the last six months.
The following is also required:
1. A copy of a recent physical exam from your physician (within six months)
2. A copy of your insurance card (front and back)
3. Completed Athlete Tryout Waiver & HIPPA forms (download here)
4. Completed Walk-On Tryout Eligibility Confirmation Worksheet (download here)
The above paperwork must be submitted at the Sept. 4th meeting in order to try out.
Note: If you are an incoming freshman, please register with the NCAA Clearinghouse and send them your final high school transcript and standardized test scores. If not already completed, this should be done as soon as possible.
