KINGSTON, R.I. – Rhode Island Athletics and its multimedia rights holder, Rhody Sports Properties, announced today an extended, multi-year relationship with Rams' corporate partner Care New England Health System.
Concurrent with the 2019-20 athletics season, the health care system will continue supporting the athletics department on a comprehensive level, while the brand will be most visible during the men's basketball season. The core component of the new term provides for Care New England to assume naming rights to the Thomas M. Ryan Center Court, as well as the Annual Ocean State Battle game against Providence College.
As part of the naming rights, Care New England will receive logo placements in two different areas of the Rams' home court. Additionally, Care New England will receive permanent, television-visible branding on stanchions at both ends of the court and maintain brand exposure through in-arena, digital signage and visibility on GoRhody.com. The health care system also has naming rights to the Rhody Sports Network.
"It's been a privilege for us to partner with URI, and we're excited about taking our relationship to a new level to include naming rights to the Ryan Center Court and annual contest against Providence College," said Jim Beardsworth, Care New England vice president of marketing and communications. "Community engagement remains an integral part of our organizational culture, and we're proud to continue supporting the Rhody Rams."
"We value our relationship with Care New England and appreciate their willingness to continue supporting URI and elevating their commitment to athletics over the next several years," said URI Director of Athletics Thorr Bjorn.
The Care New England relationship is secured and managed by Rhody Sports Properties on behalf of URI Athletics. According to Devin Berg, Rhody Sports Properties' general manager, "Care New England has proven to be a dedicated partner with shared values and commitment to community, and we are grateful for their continued dedication to the Rhody Rams."
