How it Happened
Five players scored in double figures as Rhode Island opened the 2019-20 campaign with a 76-65 victory over LIU Tuesday night.

The top four returning scorers for the Rams - Fatts Russell, Cyril Langevine, Jeff Dowtin and Tyrese Martin - combined for 60 of Rhody's 76 points. Freshman Jacob Toppin was the fifth player in double figures, scoring 11 in his debut. Rhode Island led for the majority of the first half and took a 36-28 lead into the break. Langevine had nine points and eight rebounds in the first half, controlling the glass.

URI started off the second half on a 15-5 run to open a 51-33 lead. The victory was Rhode Island's seventh straight in season openers.
