KINGSTON, R.I. - Rhode Island senior Aaron Parker was named Co-CAA Football Offensive Player of the Week following his electric performance against Delaware Saturday night, the league announced Monday morning.

Parker set career-highs with 12 receptions for 227 yards and a TD in Rhode Island's triple OT setback to Delaware. It was the most catches by a URI player in one game since 1994 and the fifth-most receiving yards in school history. Nine of his 12 grabs went for a first down and his 24-yard TD catch gave the Rams a 19-14 lead in the fourth quarter. The 227 yards are the second-most by any player in FCS in 2019.

Through the first two weeks of the season, Parker ranks second in the country with 371 receiving yards. Only Tennessee State's Chris Rowland has more, with 374. Parker is third in the country with 21 catches, just one behind co-leaders Rowland and Idaho's Jeff Cotton.

The 12 catches for Parker were the most by a Ram in one game since Cy Butler has 15 against Massachusetts on Oct. 1, 1994. It was the ninth time in program history a player had 200 receiving yards in one game, and the first time since Shawn Leonard went for 275 against New Hampshire in 2009.
