The Basics

  • Rhode Island (8-2-0, 2-1-0 A-10) returns to the URI Soccer Complex to host Massachusetts Wednesday night.
  • URI enters the game with the nation's ninth-best scoring offense (2.30 goals per game).
  • The Rams also rank fifth nationally in corner kicks per game (7.00) and seventh in shots on goal per game (7.40).
  • Defensively, Rhody has the 19th-best save percentage (.825) in the country and the 22nd-best team goals against average (0.686).
  • Last week, Rhody picked up a pair of 3-1 wins - at home vs. Saint Louis and on the road at St. Bonaventure.

He has collected two A-10 Rookie of the Week awards and has one Defensive Player of the Week honor.
  • Overall, Rhody's defense has allowed just 40 shots on goal through 10 games (4.0 per game). At the opposite end of the field, URI is averaging 7.4 shots on goal per game.
