How It Happened
Freshman Edvin Akselsen had the second two-goal game of his career as Rhode Island beat Dayton 3-1 Saturday night. It was the fourth win in a row for the Rams, who improve to 10-2 overall and 4-1 in the Atlantic 10.
Rhode Island scored first when Chae Brangman knocked home a one-timer off an assist from Stavros Zarokostas in the 50th minute. The Flyers responded with a goal in the 75th minute from Jake Feiner.
Akselsen took over from there. In the 80th minute, he headed in a long cross from Emil Jesman Sunde to put Rhody back in front. Then, in the final minute, he struck again, this time off an assist from Ludvik Benco to put the game away.
