Rhode Island sophomore Stephen Cirella sits in third place after day one of the UConn Multi-Event Challenge. 

Highlights From the Heptathlon

  • Cirella finished the day in third place with a total of 2875 points. He ran the 60m dash in 7.58 seconds, jumped 6.40m in the long jump, threw 14.43m in the shotput, and tied for first with a measurement of 1.95m in the high jump.
  • Freshman Daniel O'Neil ended day one in eighth place, scoring 2503 points. O'Neil finished the 60m dash clocking in at 7.36s, jumped a 6.31m in the long jump, had a throw of 11.65m in the shot put, and recorded 1.65m in the high jump.
