Rhode Island to Face Stacked Field at Doc Hosea Invitational

KINGSTON, R.I. – Rhode Island heads back to Cooper River in New Jersey to compete at the 2018 Doc Hosea Invitational.

The Rams will be part of the 12-team field competing at the Doc Hosea Invitational that includes three teams ranked in the latest row2K.com women's collegiate rowing top 20. No. 14 Syracuse, No. 15 Indiana and No. 20 Minnesota headline the field. Also in the field are Cornell, Northeastern and Pennsylvania, all of which received votes in the poll.

Rounding out this weekend's competition are Boston University, Dartmouth, Navy, Rutgers, and Massachusetts.

The field will be broken into two heats, with the two fastest boats from each advancing to the grand final in each flight. The two boats with the fastest heat times that don't place in the top two also move on to the grand final. The other six boats will compete in the petite final in each flight.

Rhode Island will race against Pennsylvania, Northeastern, Syracuse, Boston University and Rutgers in the heats.
