How it Happened
Rhode Island and Pittsburgh played to a 1-1 tie in the teams' first ever meeting Friday night.

The Rams got on the board first in the 13th minute. Rebecca D'Anna's first goal of the season came after the sophomore beat goalkeeper Amaia Pena to put Rhody up 1-0 going in to the break.

URI held the advantage over the ACC school until just over five minutes left of regulation. Sydney Marasco scored on a cross from Amanda West to tie it 1-1, and the teams were forced in to extra time. The Panthers outshot the Rams 5-2 in the overtime period, however neither team was able to find the back of the net resulting in the 1-1 tie.
