Rams Season Ends With 4-3 Loss to Saint Louis at A-10 Championship

ORLANDO, Fla. - Saint Louis outlasted Rhode Island in a thrilling opening round match at the 2019 Atlantic 10 Women's Tennis Championship, as URI's season ended in a 4-3 loss Wednesday afternoon.

With the score tied 3-3, the match came down to No. 5 singles. Rhody's Paulina Loredo won the first set in a tiebreaker. Adriana Rodriguez took the second set, 6-4, then clinched the victory for Saint Louis by securing the third set, 6-1.

Rhode Island (6-10) got straight set wins at No. 1 and No. 4 singles. Freshman Erin Chratian defeated Cassie McKenzie, 6-1, 6-3. Sophomore Halah Davis then got the point at No. 4 singles when she defeated Adriana Rodriguez, 6-4, 6-4.

Senior Ariel Haber tied the match for Rhode Island with a three-set victory at No. 6 singles. Haber took the opening set 6-3, but Alana Bourgeois evened things by winning the second set, 6-1. Haber dominated the third set, taking the match with a clean 6-0 frame.
