The Basics

  • The Rams split their two road matches last weekend, sweeping La Salle on Friday and getting swept by Duquesne on Sunday.
  • Rhody advanced to 6-2 in Atlantic 10 play with the split, moving the Rams into third place in the conference standings. 
  • As of Friday, URI ranks second in the A-10 in hitting percentage (.221) and fourth in assists per set (11.79) and kills per set (12.55).
  • The Rams also rank fifth in blocks per set (2.11) and sixth in services aces per set (1.38).
  • Individually, Callan Kinnan is second in the league in assists per set (10.46) and 77th in the nation with 743 total. 
  • Senior Layne Self ranks fourth in the A-10 and 52nd nationally with 1.24 blocks per set. She also ranks fifth in the league with a .340 hitting percentage.
  • Senior Audrey Castro enters the weekend ranked fourth in the A-10 with 3.69 kills per set. Castro also collected her fourth double-double of the season at La Salle with 15 kills and 14 digs.
  • Junior Sam Roberts moved into 10th in the conference in hitting percentage after this past weekend, hitting .287 for the season.
  • Sophomore Olivia Budinich led the Rams with 18 digs between the last two games, including her sixth game of the season with double-digit digs (11 at Duquesne).

Rhode Island vs. Fordham

  • Rhody leads the all-time series with Fordham, 28-10.
  • Fordham is one of five Atlantic 10 teams that Rhody will face twice this season as URI will travel the Bronx to take on Fordham again on Nov. 12.
  • Fordham enters the match with a 10-13 overall record and a 3-5 mark in the A-10.
  • Fordham enters the weekend on a four-match losing streak, having fallen to La Salle, Duquesne, Dayton and Saint Louis over the last two weekends.
  • Last weekend, Fordham took on Duquesne on Friday and La Salle on Sunday. The Rams were swept by the Dukes and lost a five-set match to the Explorers.
  • As of Friday, Fordham ranks first in the conference in service aces per set (1.76) and seventh in digs per set (13.53).
  • Individually, Olivia Fairchild leads the team with 401 kills and 50 aces. She also is second in the conference with 4.46 kills per set and third in the country in total service aces.
  • Maddy Walsh is Fordham's assist leader with 872. She is 12th in the nation in total assists and fourth in the conference in assists per set with 10.02.
  • Morgan Williams has a team-best 332 digs and is eighth in the conference with 3.68 digs per set.
  • Elise Benjamin is Fordham's top blocker with 67 total on the season.
  • Kaitlin Morley comes into the match with 31 service aces, which ties her for 28th nationally.
