KINGSTON, R.I. - Rhode Island freshman Mariah Paulette has been named Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week, following her performance at this past weekend's Holy Cross Invitational.
The Rhody rookie helped lead Rhode Island to a pair of 3-2 wins over Columbia and Holy Cross, combining for 12 total blocks - including one solo - on the weekend. She registered two blocks against Drake, five against Columbia and five against Holy Cross to average 1.18 per set.
The Toledo, Ohio native also added 24 kills (2.18 per set) and averaged 2.82 points per set. She had 13 kills with just three errors in URI's win over Holy Cross and recorded nine kills with just one error in Rhody's victory over Columbia.
The Rams are back in action this weekend when they return to Keaney Gymnasium to host the 11th annual Art Carmichael Invitational. The two-day tournament will also feature teams from Army West Point, New Hampshire and Yale.
