KINGSTON, R.I. - Over a dozen members of the Rhode Island football team received postseason recognition from Phil Steele, highlighted by a pair of All-American honorees in linebacker
A.J. Pena (First Team) and wide receiver
Marquis Buchanan (Fourth Team).
Both Pena and Buchanan also landed on the organization's All-CAA Football First Team. Pena has additionally been named a First Team All-American by the Associated Press, Stats Perform and FCS Football Central. Buchanan was a Stats Perform Second Team All-American.

Rhode Island is coming off a historic 2024 campaign that saw the team capture its first-ever CAA Football title. The Rams, whose last conference title was earned in 1985, also broke a 39-year playoff drought when they earned an at-large selection to the FCS Championship as the No. 10 seed. Rhode Island defeated Central Connecticut State in its first round game at Meade Stadium (21-17, Nov. 30) before falling at No. 7 Mercer (17-10, Dec. 7).
