KINGSTON, R.I. - Rhode Island Baseball's
Jake Cullen was tabbed Pitcher of the Week by the Atlantic 10 in a release put out by the league on Tuesday morning.
The true freshman pitched 8.0 scoreless innings across two appearances last week. He tossed 3.0 frames of relief against Sacred Heart (March 4) before making his first collegiate start at Eastern Kentucky (March 9).
During the game against the Colonels, the Westford, Mass. native pitched 5.0 innings to earn his first career win. He allowed one hit while striking out six batters and issuing two walks. In his previous outing against the Pioneers, Cullen let up just one hit while fanning seven.
In total, the rookie tallied 13 strikeouts with two hits and zero runs for the Rams while earning his spot on the A-10 weekly honor roll.
He is the second Rhody arm to earn such honors, as
Trystan Levesque was tabbed Co-Pitcher of the Week back on Feb. 24. In total, four URI players have received recognition from the conference in 2025:
Adonis Medina (Rookie of the Week, Feb. 17), Levesque and DePino (Co-Player of the Week, March 5).
