KINGSTON, R.I. – Coming off one of the biggest victories in program history, Rhode Island travels to nationally-ranked Brown for a series of four races Saturday.

Consistently one of the strongest programs in the country, Brown is ranked No. 9 in the latest CRCA/US Rowing Coaches Poll. Last season, the Bears finished 14th at the national championship, and they are just two seasons removed from their most recent national title. From 1997 through 2011, Brown won seven national titles.

A year ago, Brown visited Rhode Island's Narrow River for the first time ever and swept the races. However, Rhody's Varsity 8 boat lost by just 9.5 seconds, a 10-second improvement from the previous year.

Saturday's races, which are held on the Seekonk River in Providence, begin at 9:55 a.m. Fans can watch the races from the Narragansett Boat Club.
