KINGSTON, R.I. - Ryan Pincince has joined the Rhode Island Department of Athletics as a Business Manager, Associate Athletic Director for Business and Personnel Patty Testa announced Tuesday.

In the role, Pincince will be responsible for daily management of the department's fiscal activities, including budget planning and execution.

Pincince has worked at the University since July of 2015. In December of 2018, he was promoted to the role of Assistant Director of Purchasing for URI. This came after he spent three years as an Assistant University Purchasing Agent.

"Ryan has a deep and thorough understanding of financial operations at the University," Testa said. "Over the years, he has worked well with a wide segment of the University community, including Athletics. His familiarity with budgeting and purchasing will help our entire department operate more efficiently.

"This addition also finally brings the Business Office to full capacity from a staffing standpoint. This is vital to help all of our Division I programs quickly and effectively address all needs in as timely a fashion as possible."

Before coming to Rhode Island, Pincince was the general manager for the Charlestown Rathskeller Tavern in Charlestown, R.I. He also has worked for the Washington Trust Company in Westerly, R.I., Rhode Island Public Radio and the United States Postal Service.

Pincince earned his bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management from Rhode Island in 2013. He added both a master's degree in Public Administration and a graduate certificate in Labor Relations from the school in 2020.
