Rhode Island opened the 2023-24 indoor track and field season Saturday, splitting squads to both the Brown Alden Invitational and BU Season Opener. At Brown, the Rams finished second, just two team points behind the host Bears Saturday afternoon.

Alden Invitational Scoring Finishes
- Lucas Plaia was first in the 500 meters (1:05.03) and CJ Kiviat was third (1:06.94).
- Mason Brubaker won the pole vault after clearing 4.60 meters. Wyatt Lamell was second (4.45m) and Devin Donahue finished fifth (4.00m).
- Alex Baez placed first in the weight throw, marking 19.60 meters
- The Rams had the 1-2-3 in the shot put, with Christopher Tavarone placing first throwing 16.53 meters. Theo Puterbaugh was second (16.16m) and CJ McDermott was third (15.15m).
- Ianique Imboque was third in the 1000 meters, crossing the finish line in 2:32.90.
- Kai Schmidt-Bilowith won the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.03 seconds.
- Jolon O'Connor and Alex Arbogast both crossed the finish line in 6.89s in the 60 meter final. The time was good for second. Jarrett Young was sixth (7.00s).
- The 4x400m relay team of Imboque, Liam Creeley, Kiviat, and Plaia was second in 3:25.22.
- Matthew Santy was Rhody's top finisher in the high jump, marking 1.92 meters for fourth place.
- Derek Chalmers was seventh in the long jump after leaping 6.81 meters.
- Damian Scouloukas finished fourth in the triple jump with a mark of 13.83 meters.
