Dave Marcotte begins his second season as an assistant coachwith the Rhode Island golf program. Marcotte has served asthe PGA head professional at Point Judith Country Club inNarragansett, R.I. since 1998.
A native of North Attleboro, Mass., Marcotte enjoyed a finejunior and collegiate golf career at the University of SouthFlorida. From 1992 to 1996, he was an assistant pro at Agawam Huntin East Providence, R.I.
"I'm excited to have Dave Marcotte as a part of our program,"said head men's golf coach Gregg Burke. "In a state where we haveso many tremendous PGA Professionals, to have the person I believeto be one of the very best join the program, is exactly what weneed. As importantly, Dave will be a wonderful role model for theyoung men we'll bring into the program."
In 2001, Marcotte was named the top golf teachers in the stateof Rhode Island by Golf Digest magazine. A former president of theRhode Island PGA, he has served on several committees with the NewEngland PGA.
He and his wife Kathryn reside in South Kingstown with theirchildren, Samantha and Michael.
