Heather Gagne, who enters her second year at Rhode Island in2012-13, serves as the athletic trainer for URI's women'sbasketball and tennis programs.

Prior to arriving in Kingston, Gagne was an assistant athletictrainer at American International College, where she workedprimarily with the wrestling and women's lacrosse teams. She alsoworked for Ullucci Sports Medicine and Physical Therapy, coveringvarious events from pee wee football to collegiatecompetitions.

From 2001-05, Gagne served in the United States Marine Corps and- after completing her time in the military - went on to earnundergraduate degrees in Athletic Training and Physical Educationfrom Bridgewater State College in 2008.

She then served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer atProvidence College and completed her Master's program in Guidanceand Counselor Education in 2010. While at PC, she worked withwomen's soccer as well as the swimming and diving teams. Gagne is anative of Dartmouth, Mass.
