Andrew Blum enters his first season with the Rhode Island women's rowing team for the 2012-13 year.

Blum spent the 2011-12 season as an assistant coach with the Rhode Island men's rowing club team, working closely with the novice rowers. He assisted in creating a training plan for the entire team and planned daily practices. He coached the novice boat to a second place finish at the Quinsigamond Novice Challenge, where Rhode Island was the first club team boat to finish. His Novice 4+ team won the silver medal at the 2012 New England Rowing Championship.

During his rowing career at Rhode Island, Blum was a member of the second varsity four team that won a bronze medal at the 2010 New England Rowing Championship. He also raced with the varsity four and second varsity eight boats during his time with the Rams.

Blum earned Bachelors Degrees in elementary education and writing and rhetoric from Rhode Island in 2011.
