Craig Scriven is entering his third season as assistant women's soccer coach at the University of Rhode Island.

Prior to arriving in Kingston, Scriven previously served as the Vice President/National Director of the United States Specialty Sports Association. In that role, Scriven helped reenergize a struggling program into one that now operates under the membership of U.S. Soccer. He handled all aspects of the organization, from recruitment of new members to contracts, budgeting, forecasting, developing new programs, and hiring of new staff members. Scriven helped raise player registration from 3,000 to 50,000 in three years.

Before his time at the USSSA, Scriven was the Competitive Director/Head Coach of the Futura Futbol Club in Kansas City from 2006-07. In that role, Scriven served as head coach of three travel teams - U18 boys and U13 and U15 girls - while also overseeing the development of numerous ODP and college selected players. Scriven also handled overall player development, including speed, agility, and strength & conditioning programs.

A four-year letterwinner at Park University in Parkville, Mo., Scriven was named the Freshman Player of the Year in 1999 before leading his squad to the NAIA Championship Game in 2002. In 2002, Scriven earned a bachelor's degree in communication with an emphasis in communication theory and human relations with a minor in public relations from Park University.

Scriven also has his U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) Class "D" license and earned his NSCAA Premier Diploma during the summer of 2012.
