Biography
2011-12 (JUNIOR): At the Harold Anderson Invitational, placed eighth in the 400-yard IM (4:50.47)... Against Bryant, earned fifth in the 200-yd. backstroke (2:22.69) and sixth in the 100-yd. backstroke (1:07.02).
2010-11 (SOPHOMORE): Helped the 8x50 relay team to a third place finish versus Maine... Recorded a time of 2:20.42 in the 200-yard IM against Springfield... Placed second in the 200 SC meter backstroke with a time of 2:33.06 at Providence... Recorded a time of 2:20.42 in the 200-yard IM at the Harold Anderson Invitational... Helped the 8x50 yard medley relay team to a third place finish with a time of 4:03.36 at Bryant... Recorded a time of 2:22.63 in the 200-yard IM at R.I. Invitational... Finished with a time of 1:08.28 in the 100-yard backstroke versus Wagner... Finished fifth with a time of 1:05.57 in the 100-yard backstroke at Vermont.
2009-10 (FRESHMAN): Opened her collegiate career with a fourth-place finish in the 200 yard backstroke (2:19.38) at Maine (10/31)...Apart of the third place 200 yard medley relay team (1:55.94) and took fourth place in the 100 yard backstroke (1:05.89) as well as placed second in the 200 yard IM (2:22.06) against Providence (11/7).
HIGH SCHOOL: A member of the swim and outdoor track teams at Scarborough High School... As a senior, earned the Coaches Award, all-conference, scholastic/athletic achievement award and the Sheila Gant Recognition of Leadership Award... Earned second place in the 200 IM at the New England High School Swim Championships in 2009... A member of the state (Maine) record team in the 200 Medley Relay... A state finalist all four years of high school... Was also a member of the USA Swim Team... Has volunteered for the Special Olympics, Relay for Life and Maine Medical Center... Participated in the annual USA Swim Team Swim-a-Thon and was a member of the SHS Kiwanis Key Club.
PERSONAL: Born November 2, 1990... Daughter of Bruce and Janet Beecher... Has one brother, Page... Enjoys art, being outdoors, volunteering, water sports, traveling and spending time with family and friends... Lists favorite athlete as Ian Crocker and the Boston Red Sox and the USA Olympic Swim Team as her favorite teams.
