Biography
2012-13 (SOPHOMORE): At Providence on Nov. 14, placed second in the 200-meter medley relay (2:06.23)… Competed in the Ed Golden Invitational on Nov. 3 finishing first in the 200-yard medley relay (1:51.01).
2011-12 (FRESHMAN): At Rhody's season-opening meet at Maine, took fourth in the 200-yard medley relay (1:54.81) and sixth in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:12.39)... In Rhode Island's eighth straight win against Springfield, earned fourth in the 200-yard medley relay (1:56.24)... At the Harold Anderson Invitational, placed third in the 200-yard medley relay (1:49.93) and eighth in the 100-yard breast (1:10.02)... Against Bryant, placed fourth in the 100-yd. breaststroke (1:10.85)... Against Vermont, earned fourth in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:10.76).
HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Wolcott High School... Received the Governor's Award senior year... Earned Summa Cum Laudes in English I and III and AP Literature (freshman, junior and senior year), Algebra II and Geometry (freshman and sophomore year), Social Sciences I and III and Current Events (freshman, junior and senior year) and Biology (freshman year)... President of NHS... Played volleyball freshman year... Soccer sophomore, junior and senior year, lettering... Ran track and field freshman and sophomore year, lettering... Swam on the Southington Stingrays swim team... Participated in soccer NVL's and states (junior and senior year) as well as track states for pole vaulting (sophomore year)... Set records on club swim team for 100 breast, 200 medley relay and 200 free relay (senior year)... Won girls 13-plus age group championship meet as a senior.
PERSONAL: Born October 12, 1993... Daughter of Eugene Bystrak and Jill Corvese... Both parents are software engineers... Has one sibling, a twin sister, Kristina, who attends Marist College... Enjoys swimming, soccer, drawing and painting... Favorite athlete is Brendan Hansen... Favorite team is the URI women's swimming and diving... Majoring in pharmacy, with hopes of owning and running private pharmacy or teaching pharmaceutical sciences.
