Sam Greenfield joined the Rhode Island strength and conditioning staff in August of 2021.
Greenfield came to Rhode Island after two years as a graduate assistant with the Strength and Conditioning Department at Boston University. He implemented weekly programs for men’s hockey, men’s basketball, track & field, Soccer, and lacrosse. He also was responsible for programming for men’s and women’s tennis and the men’s and women’s swim & dive teams.

A 2019 Cum Laude graduate in Applied Exercise Science from Springfield College, Greenfield became the head coach for Compete Strength and Conditioning in the summer of 2020. In that position, he assisted the facility owner with design and implementation of various strength, speed and agility, and conditioning programs for a spectrum of athletes and clients. Skill levels for his clients ranged from middle school to professional athletes.
While at Springfield, Greenfield was a defensive tackle for the football team from 2016-19, earning NEWMAC All-Academic Team honors.
