McHale Perkins joined the Rhode Island staff as an Academic Advisor in December of 2020. She will work directly with men’s basketball, volleyball and softball. She enters her second year at Rhode Island in 2021-22.
Perkins came to URI from North Carolina State, where she was an assistant academic coordinator with the football team from June of 2019 through January of 2021. She also worked with the men’s soccer, women’s soccer, men’s tennis, women’s golf and wrestling programs.
Before N.C. State, Perkins was an assistant academic coordinator at the University of South Florida from August of 2018 until May 2019. She worked with the men’s and women’s basketball programs.
A native of Hollis, N.H., Perkins is a member of the Atlantic 10 athletics family. She was a captain of the Saint Joseph’s women’s soccer team, where she played from 2011-14. She played professionally for Västerås BK30 in Sweden, helping the club win both the 2016 Distriktsmästare Widerlöv Cup championship and the 2016 Södra Svealand League championship.
Perkins graduated Cum Laude from Saint Joseph’s with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Spanish. She completed a master’s degree in the Psychology of Sport and Exercise from Leeds Beckett University in England in 2016.
