Jen Fay

Rhode Island women's basketball head coach Tammi Reiss announced the addition of Jen Fay as Assistant Coach/Recruiting Coordinator on May 13, 2024.

This is the second staff addition Reiss has announced this offseason, after adding Ali Jaques last week.  "We are thrilled to add Jen Fay to our coaching staff," said Reiss. "I have always been a big fan of Jen as a player and have admired her growth as an Assistant Coach at Quinnipiac. I have had my eye on Jen for a few years now and the time was finally right for her to become a Ram. Jen is passionate, competitive, and energetic. She has fantastic interpersonal skills that will connect her to our student athletes. Jen is going to be a tremendous asset to them on and off the court."

Fay spent the last five seasons on staff at Quinnipiac under Tricia Fabbri and was elevated to an assistant  coach ahead of the 2020-21 campaign. She earned the title of Recruiting Coordinator prior to the start of the 2023-24 season. Following a successful playing career with the Bobcats, she had joined the staff as a graduate assistant coach for the 2020-21 season.

In her five-year Quinnipiac career, Fay was one of the most decorated players in MAAC History. A five-time MAAC Regular Season Champion and four-time MAAC Tournament Champion, Fay also helped lead the Bobcats to four NCAA Tournament appearances, including a Sweet 16 Appearance in 2016-17. Quinnipiac won three NCAA Tournament games in her time with the program.

Individually, Fay was a three-time All-MAAC selection, including a spot on the First Team in 2017-18, as well as a two-time MAAC Tournament Most Outstanding Player. Fay also stood out in the classroom as a four-time MAAC All-Academic Team pick.

She ranks 16th in Quinnipiac program history and 10th in Division I program history with 1,277 points and is eighth in program history with 146 three-point field goals. She also played in 133 games in her career, just two behind Aryn McClure '19 and Adily Martucci '17 for the most in program history. Fay averaged over 10 points per game in each of her final three seasons with the Bobcats, leading Quinnipiac in scoring from 2016-19. Her best season came in 2017-18 when she was named to the All-MAAC First Team after averaging a team-leading 13.3 points per game, 6.7 rebounds per game and 2.2 assists per game as she started all 34 games.

As a senior in 2018-19, Fay averaged 12.5 points per game and a career-high 6.8 rebounds per game to lead Quinnpiac, as well as a career-high 2.7 assists per game.

Fay graduated from Quinnipiac with her Bachelor of Arts in History in May 2018 and completed her Masters of Arts in Teaching in Secondary Education in May 2020.
