Owen Salvestrini was promoted to Assistant Director of AthleticsDevelopment in September 2012.

Salvestrini previously held the title of development associate inthe URI Athletics Development Department. In this role, Salvestriniassists in all day-to-day operations of the department includingthe cultivation and stewardship of potential donors. Salvestrinialso coordinates events such as pre-game receptions, banquets, golfoutings and numerous other special events.

Prior to arriving in Kingston, Salvestrini worked as a TrainingCamp Supervisor for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the NationalFootball League in Orlando, FL before the 2008 season. In thatrole, Salvestrini oversaw and delegated 17 training camp assistantswho played a vital role in team transportation and in theday-to-day operations of the camp.

Before working for the Buccaneers, Salvestrini spent the 2007-08academic year at the BIG EAST Conference working as a FootballOperations Assistant. In that role, Salvestrini reported directlyto the Associate Commissioner of Football, assisting in the dailyoperations of BIG EAST Football. Salvestrini oversaw and evaluatedall BIG EAST televised games with the Coordinator of FootballOfficials and distributed pertinent conference information whilemaintaining communication with the league office, among numerousother duties.

From 2005-2007, Salvestrini worked as a Financial Representativefor New England Wealth Strategies where he coordinated with parentand affiliated companies to construct the most appropriatefinancial solutions for clients. Salvestrini earned an economicdegree from Fairfield University in 2005, while starting as alinebacker on the Stags' football team.

Salvestrini is a native of Ridgefield, Conn. and currently residesin Wakefield, R.I.
