Rod Chance is in his first season with the Rhode Island coachingstaff, joining the Rams as the cornerbacks coach in February2013.

Chance – who played for the Rams from 2001 through 2005– returned to his alma mater after coaching four seasons atAlpharetta High School in Georgia. Chance was the special teamscoordinator, and also coached the defensive backs and widereceivers.

He also served as the program’s academic advisor andrecruiting liaison. Following the 2012 season, 12 players fromAlpharetta signed national letters of intent with Division Iprograms, with players going to Tennessee, Oklahoma State,Virginia, Vanderbilt and Texas Christian, among others.

Chance was a four-year starter for Rhode Island who finished hiscareer with more than 100 tackles and 11 interceptions.
