Football Falls To William & Mary

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (AP) - David Corley ran for two touchdowns and passed for another Saturday as William & Mary beat Rhode Island 26-16.

William & Mary (3-3, 2-1 Atlantic 10) raced to a 23-0 lead early in the third quarter. Vince Nedimyer scored on runs of 1 and 3 yards in the second half for Rhode Island (0-5, 0-3).

Corley completed 14 of 22 passes for 249 yards, including a 13-yard touchdown strike to Brett Sterba to cap a 10-play, 80-yard drive with 6:54 left in the first period. Corley's TD runs covered 1 yard each in the second and third quarters.

Chris Rosier had seven receptions for 184 yards for the Tribe.

David Jamison ran for 153 yards on 17 carries to lead a Rhode Island ground game that piled up 259 yards. Nedimyer had 85 yards on 21 carries.
