WASHINGTON D.C. - Rhode Island women's soccer remaind perfect in A-10 action as they downed George Washington, 2-1, at the Mount Vernon Athletic Complex on Sunday.

The Colonials took a 1-0 lead 12 minutes into the game but the Rams answered right back in two minutes with a goal.

URI then scored the game-winner about seven minutes later to take a 2-1 advantage that stood for the rest of the match.

Rams' sophomore Debra Nelson tied the game 1-1 at the 14:24 mark when she lifted a kick from 15-yards in front of the Colonials' net that just sailed over the reach of GW goalkeeper Kelly Paolucci.

The Rams made it 2-1 at the 21:48 mark when junior midfielder Aimee Lambert scored her first goal of the season unassisted.

Rams' goalie Ria Carroll recorded seven saves in the win.

URI will conclude its regular season play at Richmond and Charlotte next Friday (Oct. 28) and Sunday (Oct. 30).
