DUQUESNE TOO MUCH FOR WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL IN 3-0 SWEEEP

KINGSTON, R.I. - Rhode Island sophomore outside hitter Joanna Mitchell totaled a team-high 11 kills but it was Duquesne shutting down the Rams, 3-0 (31-29, 30-24, 30-15), in Atlantic 10 women's volleyball action this afternoon in Keaney Gymnasium.

Duquesne (15-12, 5-7 A-10) sophomore outside hitter Dan McLaughlin registered a match-high 13 kills to go along with 10 digs, while senior middle hitter Diana Wuebker added 11 kills on 15 swings with no errors for a .733 hitting percentage for the Dukes.

Freshman defensive specialist Peggy Doino was credited with a team-high 10 digs for the Rams (7-20, 1-11 A-10), which wrap up their season on Sunday with a 2:00 p.m. match against Saint Louis. Rhode Island will be sponsoring `Dig For A Cure' Day with all proceeds going towards breast cancer education.
