KINGSTON, R.I. - Rhode Island freshman outside hitter Chinny Okpara tallied career highs with 17 kills and 21 digs, while sophomore outside hitter Joanna Mitchell added a career-best 25 kills and 12 digs to lead the Rams to a 3-2 (26-30, 30-24, 25-30, 30-27, 15-12) come-from-behind victory over Saint Louis in their final match of the season, Sunday, in Keaney Gymnasium.
URI (8-20, 2-11 A-10) junior setter Inga Schlecht was credited with 55 assists and 19 digs, while freshman libero Leslie Wiekamp finished off the season with 18 digs for the Rams.
Saint Louis junior outside hitter Tatyana Menshikova had a team-high 18 kills, while senior defensive specialist Erin McClanahan made 16 digs to lead the Billikins (14-16, 6-7 A-10).
Rhode Island was also sponsoring `Dig For a Cure' Day, raising money to benefit breast cancer education. Receiving pledges for every dig they compiled, the Rams totaled 83 digs for the match.
