KINGSTON, R.I. - University of Rhode Island junior setter Lindsay St. John (Yorba Linda, Calif.) was named to the all-tournament team at the Rhode Island Volleyball Classic, hosted by URI. The Rams (5-7) lost to Connecticut (5-5), 3-0 (30-21, 30-13, 35-33), in day-two action of the classic. No. 20 Arizona (8-1) defeated North Carolina (5-5), 3-1 (30-19, 22-30, 30-23, 33-31) to be named tournament champion.
URI freshman outside hitter Jillian Bekke totaled 12 kills and nine digs, while junior outside hitter Rachel Bello contributed 12 kills and eight digs for the Rams.
Ram freshman libero Leslie Wiekamp was credited with a match-high 13 digs.
Rhode Island returns to action Tuesday (Sept. 21) when its hosts Brown at 7:00 p.m.
