Baseball Downs Temple, 12-2

Ambler, Pa. - The University of Rhode Island baseball team defeated Temple 12-2 on Friday afternoon at Ambler Field outside Philadelphia.  The Rams had six players with multiple hits and combined for 15 hits as a team. 

Junior first-baseman Ryan Cunningham had two hits, three RBI and two runs scored while teammate junior right-fielder Scott Brown also had two hits to go along with two RBI and two runs scored.

Sophomore third-baseman Shaun Hagey, senior second-baseman Wayne Russo, sophomore shortstop Mike O'Malley and senior catcher Josh Nestor are the other four Rams with multiple hits in the game. 

Junior James Norcott pitched a complete game giving up only two runs on eight hits while striking out four to earn the victory. 

The Rams (19-6, 7-2 A-10) will play the Owls (7-24, 1-9) on Saturday (1:00 p.m.) and again on Sunday (1:00 p.m.)
