The golden goal capped off a late comeback for the Rams. Trailing 2-1, Larusdottir scored her seventh goal of the season at the 71:23 mark on a hard, high shot which beat UMass goalkeeper Krisin Walker. The goal was set up off a pass from Thorunn Jonsdottir.

Massachusetts would counter with two unanswered goals in the span of 1:18, to take a 2-1 lead into the halftime break.

URI outshot UMass, 22-15, and attempted five corner kicks to the Minutewomen's three. Rhody goalkeeper played all 97:14, making five saves while allowing two goals. Her counterpart Kristin Walker made 11 saves, allowing three goals.

With the win, Rhode Island improves to 8-3-2 overall and 3-1-1 in Atlantic 10 play. The Rams return to action on Oct. 16 when they travel to Providence to face Brown.
