Rams Shutout in the Bronx, 1-0, at Fordham

BRONX, N.Y. -- The University of Rhode Island women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision at Fordham on Friday night in an Atlantic 10 matchup.

Fordham scored the lone goal of the match just before halftime, as Katie McDermott had a clear shot off a corner kick in the 44th minute. McDermott took the inlet pass from Kim Boulos and Danielle Ingram and was able to put it past URI goalkeeper Agnes Arnadottir. She made seven saves in goal for Rhode Island on the night.

URI was outshot, 15-6, in the match - including an 8-3 edge in shots on goal. Kassandra Spitler, Adrienne Ruhe Lischke and Stephanie Santos each had scoring opportunities, but Fordham goalkeeper Elisabeth Roald was able to convert all three saves.

Both teams attempted one corner kick, while URI was whistled for 12 fouls to Fordham's 11.

Rhody returns to action on Sunday, Oct. 26 at La Salle in Philadelphia.
