KINGSTON, R.I. -- Stephanie Santos' goal in the fourth minute of the game proved to be the gamewinner as Rhode Island earned a 1-0 victory over visiting Saint Louis.

The win - the program's first-ever versus Saint Louis - closed out Rhody's season with a 7-12-1 overall record and a 3-8 mark in Atlantic 10 conference play.

Santos scored her team-best sixth score of the season just 3:51 into regulation. Alexis Veith played a ball at the top center of the box , finding Adrienne Ruhe Lischke to the right side. Ruhe Lischke - who ended the season ranked second on the team in scoring (12 points) -set up Santos in front of the goal and she beat SLU goalkeeper Hannah Perry.

The rest of the match proved to be a defensive chess match. The Rams backline held the Billikens to just seven shots for the game - including just one on goal.

That came in the first half and URI goalkeeper Agnes Arnadottir converted the save. Each of Arnadottir's three victories this season were shutouts in A-10 play.

The game also marked the final home appearance for seniors Sarah Helldoerfer and Becca Fish. Both student-athletes were honored for their achievements and commitment in a ceremony prior to the game.
