How it Happened
Rhode Island battled to its first draw of the season Sunday, finishing in a scoreless 0-0 tie at Richmond.

The Rams came out strong, dictating the tempo early and outshooting the Spiders 8-3 in the opening half. Richmond flipped the script after halftime, generating nine shots to Rhode Island's six over the final 45 minutes.

The Spiders nearly found the go-ahead goal late, but goalkeeper Dani Eden came up with a crucial stop on Paige West's attempt to preserve the clean sheet — her eighth of the season.

Despite chances on both sides, neither team could find the back of the net, as the Rams settled for the draw on the road.

Inside the Box Score

  • Dani Eden's eight shutouts match the most in program history. Jamie Epperlein had eight in 1995.
  • Lauren MacDonald led the Rams with four shots, and two on the frame.
  • Sunday was the first draw for the Rams.
  • Rhode Island had been shutout only twice this season before the match at Richmond.
