ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. - The University of Rhode Island softball team was dealt an 8-0 loss in its season-finale by St. Bonaventure Saturday afternoon in Atlantic 10 action at McGraw-Jennings Field. The Rams finish their season 14-38 (4-16 A-10).

The Bonnies (30-21, 11-5 A-10) scored five unearned runs on the afternoon - three in the first and one each in the fourth and fifth. Kate Morenus finished the afternoon with three RBI while Kirstin Strong also had an RBI for the Bonnies, who pounded out 10 hits.

Sherri Thompson picked up her 16th win of the season for the Bonnies, holding the Rams to just three hits while striking out three in five innings of work.

Senior Jill Anderson (Cohoes, N.Y.) started for the Rams and allowed eight hits and six runs (two earned) over four innings. Freshman Stacey Stanovich (Northbridge, Mass.) pitched the fifth and allowed two hits and two runs (one earned). Each URI pitcher struck out one batter.
