COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- The University of Rhode Island women's soccer team kicks off its 2008 regular season when it travels to face No. 10 ranked Texas A&M at 8:30 p.m. ET.
The first meeting between the two schools, it also marks the first time URI has faced a top 10 ranked opponent since the 2006 season (#8 Portland).
Head coach Zac Shaw's squad is coming off a 2007 campaign in which the team went 12-6-2 overall and 6-4-1 in Atlantic 10 play. The team returns four starters and 10 letterwinners, while also adding a talented class of newcomers - including A-10 Preseason All-Rookie selections Agnes Arnadottir and Alexis Veith.
The Rams were picked to finish fourth according to the A-10's Preseason Coaches Poll.
