KINGSTON, R.I. -- This weekend, the Rhode Island women's soccer team travels to the Midwest to take on two of the top teams in the Big 12 Conference - Missouri and Kansas.

On Friday night, the Rams play at #21 Missouri. The preseason favorite in the Big 12, Mizzou is 2-1 so far during the 2009 campaign. Head coach Bryan Blitz's squad was ranked as high as #13 in the national polls, before losing a 1-0 decision at home to DePaul on Aug. 30.

On Sunday afternoon, Rhody travels to Lawrence, Kan. to take on #23 Kansas at the Jayhawk Soccer Complex. Entering this weekend's play, KU has posted a 3-0 record through the early part of the 2009 season.
